For the median to be NOT one of the entry of the table, the summation of all the entries must be even, hence x must be an odd number.

Let's explore 2 situations:

1. Odd summation of entries will result in one of the entries being the median (eg. if x=2, there will be 45 entries, median will be the 23th entry, thus the median will be one of the entry of the table)

2. Even summation of entries (which is what we want), the mean of 2 of the middle entries will be the median (e.g. if x=3, there will be 46 entries, median can be found with 23rd and 24th entry, thus median will not be one of the entry of the table)

sum of all frequencies: 8+12+x+16+7 = 43+x
! note "the median score does not represent as the entry on the table" >> the sum cannot be odd >> only number added to 43 to stay an even sum is 3.
