We clearly need information about the length of FX, since if it's 0.1 the triangle's area will be less than when it's 1,000,000. We also need to know about the position of point X, or about the angle FX makes where it meets the hexagon, since if we take BD as the base of our triangle, we can change the triangle's height by moving point X around (the closer X is to point E or A, the smaller the height of the triangle). Using both Statements, there is no mystery whatsoever -- we know all our lengths and angles and have no flexibility to change the diagram, so we can answer any question at all about the diagram, and the answer must be C.

Easily a 700-750 level question...great explanation, but what I don't understand is why statement 1 is insufficient. The figure clearly indicates the position of X so why did you move it around in statement 1?
