BDA =BAD =20
X = 180-20-20 = 140
(D) the answer IMO

Angle DCB = Angle DBC = 180- 170 = 10

Angle BDC = 180 -10- 10 = 160, so angle BDA = 20 = angle BAD

And, angle ABD = 180- 40 = 140. So, I think D. :)

∠C = ∠BDC + ∠DBC = 170
∠BCD + ∠DBC + ∠DCB = 180
∠DBC + ∠DCB = 10
∠BDC + ∠ADB = 180
∠ADB = 20 = ∠DAB
Also, ∠BDC = ∠DAB + ∠ADB (Ext. angle property)
So, 20 + x = 160
x = 140. (D), IMO!
