x+y+z=5
y+Z+5=7 =>y+z=2
z+5+7=16=>z=4

so y=-2
therefore x+y =3-2=1

lets start from z, as per the question stem
z + 5 + 7 = 16
-->> z= 4
similarly, y + 4 + 5 = 7
--> y = -2
similarly,, x + -2 + 4 = 5
--> x = 3
hence , x+y = 3-2 = 1
option c

16= 7+5+z or
z=4

7=y+z+5 or
7=y+4+5 or
y=-2

5=x+y+z or
5=4-2+x or
x=3

x+y=1

z= 16- (5+7)= 4

y= 7 -( 5+4=)= -2

x= 5- (4-2)= 3

x+y= 3-2= 1

C is the answer

From the sequence it is clear that 5=x+y+z or x+y=5-z...........(1)
We only need the value of z

16=7+5+z; hence, z=4

Substituting value of z in (1), x+y = 1
