How come this topic doesn't have a lot going on? Guess everybody's busy with applications for R2... like me.

Cheers!

Had my first interview - went okay, not great but not bad either. Now preparing for the second and dealing with sh*t at work. Way too much stuff going on, so I ask for your continued patience (hehe, INSEAD-speak) for that masterpage thing. Hm, and I also promised to post interview reports...

Ah, yes - very little activity on this thread and also over at the BW forums. Is it possible that there are fewer applicants for that particular school/intake/round? We cannot know for sure, but we can hope ;)

Re: INSEAD Jan 2010 intake [#permalink]
Hi there,

I had my first interview last Thursday and was kinda weird, okay but not so great either...
We had a very good connection with my interviewer, great chats on my career, my goals, my life generally speaking, didn't really feel like an interview but at some times, I felt he was trying to trap me. He was really digging to see how special and exceptional I was. I think I did okay, but I realized that I didn't prepare enough for such questions. Especially the "you have 1 min with the dean to convince him to take you in, what do you say"...
My 2nd interview is end of the week.
My 2cents on the number of applicants, I have two freshly graduated friends who heard from the Adcom that there's roughly 30% increase in the number of applications for Jan 10. Don't know where all these ppl are hiding though :)
Let's just give it all and do better than our best I guess!! ;)
Cheers

Good stuff Maud. I get the impression that INSEAD really values the interview feedback from alumnae while making admit decisions. Hence they conduct two such interviews (all other top schools only conduct one). Also the questions seem to assess your ability to remain composed under pressure.

All the best for interview #2.

Hi All

Its been around two weeks since I received pre-selection mail but I am yet to get any information on my interviews. The last I heard (last week) was that they are still checking the availability of alumni in my area. I think the deadline is 22 nd right?? Anybody else facing the same problem?

Regards

LK

Re: INSEAD Jan 2010 intake [#permalink]
I am done with both interviews. The second one went okay as well. The interviewer was friendly and cool, nevertheless he cornered me a couple of times and tried to grill me on my goals - first, trying to establish if they are realistic, after I proved they are realistic, asking why I need an MBA.

Anyway, I am cautiously optimistic as to the result, although the 30% increase in applications as mentioned by a previous poster makes me kinda nervous. Let the waiting game begin. Again...

I have been asked by my interviewer to send him the 6 page profile from INSEAD application. Does anybody know how to remove the 6 pages of profile from the rest of the application?

I have to send him a soft copy. How did you do it? Did you send your interviewer a hard copy?

I meant print to a pdf file. There are some plugins that let you do that. I just sent the whole file. What the hell.

You could print the 6 pages and scan them. Lots of trouble if you don't mind sending the whole package.
Print to pdf doesn't work... tried already ;)

Thanks guys! I was able to download a software that helped me in sending only the 6 pages. :-D

Actually, is there any reason not to send the whole package? Personally I thought it better for my interviewers to be able to read the essays, in order to get some understanding about my profile, goals, etc.

I printed my profile with my essays. The 1st interviewer read my essays the 2nd didn't.

I think it's OK to send the essays.

I sent only the profile because my interviewer asked for my profile and CV. Should i send the complete application for my second interview? Also can you guys let me know what happens if they are not able to arrange a second interview? Has anybody got admitted after just one interview?
