INSEAD admissions' process is not rolling, is it? Doesn't seem that way on their website.

Yes its not rolling..
Quote:
Also, any differences in getting an admit in the Jan intake vs Sep intake?

If you are applying... it will surely help to look up their site and spend around 20-25 mins.. I'd suggest to find the answer yourself.. Go figure..
if u cant find ur answer, we are here :-D

Hey..had a couple of questions:

1) On page 7, the starting annual gross salary, should be of your first job (and not your current job)

2) How are yall filling in the final grade field..I tried the format x.x / y.y...it doesnt allow it. Hence if you have a GPA on a scale that not out of 4..are we expected to convert to a 4 pt scale?

Tough crowd here :-) I found the answer in the FAQs, no difference in acceptance rate.

Hi all,
I am applying in R1 too. Female, 26, 5 years WE, from India. 2.5 years with McKinsey and 2.5 years with an Indian PE Fund. GMAT 690 (V-40, Q-44).
I had a couple of questions:
1. Do I need proof of my degree being taught in English? All my transcripts are in English. I am assuming that would suffice.
2. I know there is an option to have a 3rd additional recco. How is this sent? Should a scanned copy be uploaded at the time of submitting the application form or should the recommender post/ email it directly to the admissions office?
Thank you!

I'm not applying because I decided that the program wasn't right for me, but was anyone who got the schedule for the Fontainbleau open day happening in a couple weeks a little turned off that the schedule specifically said that not only would lunch not be provided, but also that attendees wouldn't even have time to grab something to eat. The email said something about participants having a few minutes to grab a sandwich (spending their own money) in between sessions and that later on "cakes" would be served.

A lot of people are coming a long distance to attend, and I think the least they could do is serve lunch and make time for it.

Hi Devika,

1. You do not need to submit any additional proof since your marksheets will be in English. INSEAD knows that in India English is used as medium of education in all major colleges.

2. The link for 3rd reco becomes active/available only after you submit your application. Hence I do not think you can submit a scanned reco.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Eki. Appreciate your inputs.
Am I correct in my understanding that the third (additional recco) does not have a format and is not structured as questions?
I am assuming once I get the link, my recommender can send just a letter of recommendation using the link. Is this correct?

Hi

Since the header of page seven is "Previous full-time positions", I think it's your very first full time job they're referring to.

Regarding the final grade field you should not try to convert. Use the actual grade without giving the scale. The scale will probably be in the supporting documentation from your transcripts, and even without that the guys at the INSEAD admissions office are very knowledgeable about grading systems around the world. They answered a question about that in one of the online talks recently, and said that they contacted both professors and alumni at schools they did not know much about to really get to know the admission and grading policies.

Hey is anyone else having an issue with sticking to the word limit? How much flexibility(if at all) is allowed when it comes to the Word count?

Word count is surely an issue but I am limiting it to what is defined per question. I read on other blogs that they allow +/- 10% but there is no proof.

Guys,
Can anybody share what are the Application essays this year's (2014-Jan) intake and last year's also?

Much appreciate your feedback.

P.S : Admission consultants-it'll be great if you please shed some light on this as INSEAD is probably only 1 school that despite being in the Global top 10-15 rankings doesn't come with its Application essays,I've come across in our Club :o
