Just finished my second interview today. It was very informal and only lasted 45min - we were at a cafe and it was much more like a conversation about INSEAD than anything else. When I was telling my interviewer about my personal international background he commented that it was ideal for INSEAD :) but he didn't give any feedback at the end of the interview in terms of whether he would recommend me or not. But he was giving me lots of advice and suggestions about which classes to take, where to live etc. so I hope that he had a positive overall impression of me.

So now I have to sit back and wait for that phone call with the magical +33 caller ID. It's going to be a long long wait.

I think we hear back a few days earlier....my two interviews were OK...first one better than the second......the second interviewer even told me not to keep all my eggs in one basket (not sure if that is a good sign!) and that I should continue applying to other schools.....Refused to say if he will recommend me but said that I could call him back after the result for feedback...

For all its worth....a very stressful wait ahead.....and on top of that we need to fill out a ghastly scholarship application..... also not sure how this 10% cap works, I am dual national (Australian/Indian) and if they take the cap on the indian nationality.....then its gonna be v v difficult to make the cut, considering the number of indian applicants many of whom have excellent credentials.

Hi, I’ve following this thread for a few months but haven’t really contributed.. until now

thank you all for the useful advices, support and guidance in so many ways!

My profile: Spain/M/4.5 years WE in MC/730/Engineer/Fonty

Applied on round 2 on December 1st, invited on January 6th and had both interviews last week.

Some mixed feelings about interviews, they went reasonably well but they didn’t give me any feedback on whether they would recommend me or not. Similar case as someone earlier, they both talked to me about where I should start working after Insead or giving me advice telling me to surely bring my girlfriend to Fontainebleau.. so I take it as a good sign..

Regular questions on why an MBA/why now/why Insead, future career, where else have you applied, interests. One of them was specially interested in my knowledge on risk management and probed me a little (so expect some in depth questions about your job), the other one pushed really hard on “why not LBS?” “why not part-time?” “what is your plan B and C?”, so expect some of those too.

My personal recommendations: be extremely calm and let your heart speak because you know all the answers, make some research on your interviewers career-it will make you feel as if you know them-, and finally sent a nice heart-felt email after the interview.

I honestly hope you all get your Insead dream and that I can meet you there!

Un abrazo!

I had a question on Essay 1 of the following Scholarship application:

INSEAD Alumni Fund (IAF) Special Profile Scholarship(s)

Essay 1
In no more than 700 words for all the three questions that follow: Briefly describe an instance or aspect in your life to date that has made you stand out amongst your peers or that you consider exceptional in one way or another.

Essay 2
Please (a) state why you feel an INSEAD MBA is relevant to your particular career needs, (b) explain how you envisage contributing to the future development of your country/region after graduation.

Essay 3
Provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year e.g., details of income (such as your income, investment income, savings, property rentals, etc.) set against details of expenditure (such as local outgoings, INSEAD fees, rent, living expenses). How do you expect to finance your studies if you do not obtain a scholarship or financial aid from INSEAD? (Maximum characters: 3700)

Does the number of words in Essay 1 refer to all the three Essays in total as there are no three questions in Essay 1??

I read it like this for myself, though just my interpretation:

In no more than 700 words for all the three questions that follow:
Essay 1
Briefly describe an instance or aspect in your life to date that has made you stand out amongst your peers or that you consider exceptional in one way or another.

Wow, so many "special profile" applicants !
Best of luck to you all.

It's still sooo werid to apply for scholarships before being admitted !!! Due to this, I'm sure R1 applicants will be more convincing in illustrating their motivations than R2 peers ...

I need some help here. I got confused seeing that some scholarships appear at the Scholarships first page but not in the Apply section. For example, I cannot find the 'non-traditional backgrounds' scholarships or the scholarships for Greeks in the Apply section, which is a problem given that I am a Greek doing animal genetics! Am I missing something? Did anyone else notice this too?

I am finding this awkard as well. I am also a non-traditional background and cannot find the designated apply space for that scholarship. Also as the former question stated, am wondering for the IAF scholarship I should write 700 words for all 3 questions (Essay 1, 2, 3) or total for 3 essays.

Please anyone, help!!

I have a small query can someone please clarify!!!!

In information section under Assets, INSEAD asks for values of various assets and at last asks for total Assets.
What is this total, is it total of all the above values or separately the value of assets apart from above stated ones......

Well, I sent an e-mail to INSEAD's Financing Office asking about this discrepancy. I will post their answer here if I receive it on time!

How hard is it to apply in Round3? Should I rather apply for Round1 of the January 2012 intake?

any news on this?

Has anyone understood if the documents need for applying to need-based scholarships should be sent to Singapore or Fonty?

The scholarship description starts by saying the docs should be sent to Singapore, but then shows Fonty's address...

thanks
cheers
