Finished my second interview today. A relief to complete the entire process now. It's been an extremely long haul from the time I started studying for the GMAT till today. However, regardless of the final admissions decision, it has been an extremely enlightening and enriching process. Without this application process, I would never have put so much thought into my own career or spent days on introspection.
First interview was a bit strange. My interviewer had laryngitis so it put a twist to the entire interview. I had to do ALL the talking and every now and then he whispered a question

. My throat was completely dry by the end. He caught me off-guard by really grilling me on my entrepreneurial aspirations. I had mentioned this as a long term goal and frankly, I didn't really have a business plan. However, he wanted to know my target market, how much funding I would be looking for, how I would market the products and services, etc. I came out of the interview feeling I could have done better.
Second interview was 2 hours long! It went really well. Very conversational and although tough questions were asked, the interviewer seemed more curious as to my thoughts rather than trying to catch me out. He asked me about child labour in India (how I would go about solving this problem), ways to stem population growth in the world and the effects it would have on emerging market economies, what I thought about austerity measures in Spain and Greece, did I agree with the increase in retirement age in France and if I thought NGO's were doing a good job in Sri Lanka. It seemed as if we just kept talking about world affairs but during the conversation he also managed to get me to answer the general questions (why INSEAD? how will you contribute? which campus? why?). He didnt only ask me the questions but also told me his thoughts after I answered. At the end, he walked me out of his office right down to the end of the street so that was also nice of him. If I do get into INSEAD, I hope I'll be studying with people like him because I learnt a lot during my interview.
Now the wait starts....2 weeks to go! Good luck to everyone.
