INSEAD SEPTEMBER 2011 Intake

I just finished my second interview yesterday. I'm not sure if I got lucked out or what, both of my interviews were very informal and they were more like conversations than interviews. Well, they both began by asking me my background and I went on and talked about why I wanted an MBA and why INSEAD etc. naturally without any further questions. They did ask what other schools I have applied to and I told them LBS (which I am deferring to R3 since I don't want to spend 250 pounds if I get into INSEAD which is my first choice). The second interviewer told me if I get admitted to both I should call her so she can convince me to go to INSEAD... and we went on and talked about financing and scholarships and things. I hope that's a good sign. But in the end she said she's not allowed to tell me about the decision because it's not actually up to her but adcom.

I do believe what they are looking for are fit than anything because otherwise I am not sure why I wasn't asked any other questions?

I would expect that the adcom is also well aware of how different the interviews can be, and therefore I guess it's more of a sanity check to see whether the person would fit in. This would be my guess at least.

I am IN! Just got the call from INSEAD.

I was waitlisted from R1. Looks like few of us got it today.

many congrats to folks who got confirmed after waitlist. could you share what happens after a person is waitlisted. do they ask you for any further essays or you just have to wait? would any 3rd reco from an alum help at such a stage?

for those who haven't heard from the ad/com about interviewers or haven't got replies from interviewers, my experience might help:
14 Jan - pre-selection email
18 Jan - details of both interviewers
20 Jan - wrote to both, heard back from 1
25 Jan - emailed my co-ord that the other guy hadn't replied
26 Jan - got his other mobile number and 2 more email IDs from ad/com, called & fixed interview the same day

both my i/ws next week Monday & Tuesday, hope they go well

I'm in the same boat, if fact my LBS essays are almost ready since 3rd week december ......... i held that back at the last moment and did not push my recommenders ....... btw, the app fee is 160 pounds, may be you meant $$

I was accepted today from the Round 1 waitlist as well.

I got the notice of being wait-listed on the last day of round 1 decision date, Dec 16th.

Waitlisted candidate from R1: admitted! Starting in Singapore in September. Sooo happy! Good luck to all others waiting for an answer or applying in future rounds.

No further information was asked after being placed on the waitlist. I did not submit any additional essays, additional recommendation letters or improved scores. Just kept my fingers crossed and hoped many admitted went for LBS

Congratulations to the fortunate candidates who are admitted off the waitlist. Good news travel quickly. Pop the cork and pass the bolly.

So, I had my first interview today. By no means did I knock it out of the park. I underestimated how prepared I should be for even the basic types of questions. My answers were pretty long winded and the interviewer took a lot of notes. In any event, what is done is done. Time to move on.

For those who started looking into scholarship application, I am wondering how the following question should be answered :

Provide a concise but accurate description of your financial circumstances as well as a cash flow forecast for the year at INSEAD (details of income set against all expenditures).

For the cash flow part, it's quite clear. But for the "concise and accurate" description of financial circumstances, what shall we put ? All the saving accounts + housing ownership (current estimated value) ??

I just started working on the scholarship application. i find it a tad weird though that this is sent out before results are declared and we have no idea if we are going to be in.
