just got back from interview #1

at a cafe, over coffee

here were the questions asked:

why MBA
why INSEAD
why now
what after INSEAD
what extra curr. during INSEAD
a little probing on the extracurricular activities i do now
a lot of elaboration on what INSEAD can and cannot do for you

about 75 minutes
very easy flowing conversation
casual wear

asked me to bring a copy of my CV + pdf application

Mustbeawesome, what did your interviewer tell you about what INSEAD can and cannot do? Would be interested to hear an alums thoughts.

Guys,

The interview acceptance mail from INSEAD has asked me to send the application to my interviewers.
Since i did not receive any application when i submitted, i manually downloaded the application and had sent it.

I had also sent all of my essays to my interviewers ? Is this what all interview-invited candidates do or i just goofed up ?

Guys,

Yeah that's what I did, I also notified my coordinator of my interview dates once they were agreed upon

Is it ok to go over word-limit on the essays by about 5%? It specifically counts the words on each essay and one of my essays is at 415 out of 400. Any comments or feedback?

Submitted here as well! Phew, writing 7 essays was really not as easy as I thought!

Does anyone know if the September intake would have less applicants? It seems like on the recruiting point of view, January is preferable and it seems like most people I've met are going for the January intake...

If it's been more than a full week, I would flag to INSEAD for potential reassignment since these has to be done circa. Early Dec. Just my thoughts.

Is it just me or do you all feel your applications are getting way way better than the previous ones ;) lol.. I am not surprised I got rejected by some of the R1 schools ;) Luckily I applied to all the out_of_reach schools in R1..

2) why MBA, why INSEAD, why now?
3) my career plans
4) any questions?

I waited 4 or 5 days for the second interviewer to reply (ok, they are very busy people).

My background:
GMAT: 750 (Q47, V47)
Work experience: 6 years, financial controlling (supervised 15 people at my last job)
International exposure: backpacking around the world, worked in an expat team for 1.5 years.

I look forward to the final decision.
