It has been a hell of application battle, after being dinged by 9 programs in R1 and R2, I finally got accepted to McCombs and KF with little money. The ones that dinged me are M7 and T15 plus Anderson. I am an international student wtih an ultra low undergrad GPA from the US, currently doing audit at a B4 in the country. I want to say having low gpa for whatever reason and you can't do anything about it really sucks but it's not the end of world. If you happen to have poor academic record, please don't let it stop you from applying to any of the program.
So my goal is switching to invesment banking and preferably not in Oil&Gas. It might seem to be an easy pick, considering McCombs place the most into Houston IB which is Oil&Gas. [/color]
However McCombs does have some presence in New York and west coast plus the over all cost of attendance is lower. New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq will open up new offices in Dallas in 2026, don't know how that is going to play out but it could be beneficial for McCombs in the long run.
On the other hand KF is relatively closer to New york and it has decent presence in finance sector, the culture seems great and college town life style is also attractive to me becasue I have been living in large cities for the past 3 years, need a break from the traffic and the crowd before I live in another one.
I also have been thinking about reapplying but then I will have no safety schools in the next application cycle. Really need some advices from you guys, and thank you so much for your input in advance.
