Re: Is a^2>b^2? 1) a<0 2) IaI>IbI [#permalink]
Is a^2>b^2?

1) a<0
2) IaI>IbI

This problem is testing knowledge on abs value :

Statement 1 : a < 0
The value of a is not specific and value of b is missing. Hence can't answer. Not Suffi

Statement 2 : |a| > |b|
a can have positive or negative value (since its |a|). b too can have positive or negative value (|b|)
but it doesn't matter if these values are squared, the inequality sign would remain same. hence Sufficient.

Ans : B
