So, now that only a handful of weekends remain before the R1 deadlines of most schools, where is everyone?

I am done with the Columbia application (And I've found a lot of mistakes in my application already - So a ding won't shock me)

I am done with two drafts for Wharton and have noted some crude points for the 'goals' essay. For the 4th essay, I am planning to reuse a little from Columbia's passion essay. Hopefully I'll be able to have a decent application by the end of the month.

Then I'll dedicate Oct to Stan. Darn, I am not giving much time to the Stan application :(

Spent the whole day incorporating comments and doing my own revisions to my Draft 1 Haas. I think I like Draft 2 much better, and will send them out for editing after Stanford and UCLA applications are turned in.

UCLA I have a good draft for Essay 1, will use Haas Draft 2 essays (modified) for Essays 2 and 3, and the exact same Optional Essay from Haas for UCLA's optional essay, since for both schools I wanted to talk about my community service activities.

I will be devoting the rest of September to Stanford essays. I have material for Essays A, B, and one of the C essays. But the other one I'm torn between three experiences I can talk about...

I am getting close to sending the HBS essays out for final copy editing, I plan on turning them in early next week.

Kellogg essays need to be sent out for reviewing and critiquing, hopefully I won't have to completely rewrite them.

GSB is coming along alright, but I am really struggling with the PowerPoint. I can't think of a good creative set of slides and will probably end up with a rather vanilla slide deck. I think I'm finally on track for my 3 R1 apps.

After a 2 day haitus, I'm getting back into the groove again now. Sending out my HBS essays for reviews. This is the second set of essays that I wrote. So they should need less editing....lets see what my readers have to say though

Guys, you are rather fast :) Have completed Kellogg essays, going to finish Part I of application within a few days and move on to Part II. This week is going to be Tuck only. Then Wharton and whole October for Michigan only. Columbia is to be in Round 1, so plenty of time in November will be devoted to its application.

Of course I shot myself in the foot with the comment about being on track. I am suddenly in panic mode because I think I am going to scrap my HBS culture shock essay and write about a completely different scenario.

wow, after a week of quiet, the club is buzzing again, yay!

Just arrived to sunny San Diego for work this week, and will focus on UCLA and Stanford drafts. (UCLA is almost done).

My essays are now getting ripped apart, I have reworked most of Kellogg now and have some notes of things I want to change to the rest of those. I have to get to Chicago's later this week. While the overall essay quality was high, I have had some input on how to position myself in a slightly different light.

I am really trying to not do a generic essay and I am trying to show solid self awareness.

well, I realized how much time it took to revise essays with just three people's feedback for my Haas essays. Took me all of Friday night, Sunday all day, and I still have 2 short essays to revamp. I'm very glad UCLA is very similar.

My Stanford essays will be very personal, with all but one essay (the goals essay) focused on what I do outside of work, why I do the things I do, and things like that. Hope that set turns out well!

Yeah, I also miscalculated the time it takes to incorporate review comments. This time I am planning to send the essays for review at a much earlier stage.
