I am running 2-3 weeks behind the schedule that I had planned very carefully before the app season started. And I have nobody else to blame. I am just taking more time in everything. :(

So .. yeah .. you are not alone, brother!

thanks for the reply guys! Good to hear bherronp and ncprasad are on track!

Yeah, I think it's mostly me underestimating the amount of time it takes to do a few things. The good news is my 1st drafts weren't as bad as I thought they would be, so I'm not in a world of hurt (yet). I think if I can focus on UCLA and Stanford, I should make it with time to spare.

I just want this to be over right now... ugh!

I am behind schedule, I need to read 3 cases by noon tomorrow and am headed for a party right now.

Oops, sorry, I think you meant you are behind with the apps...

Just to try and loosen up you guys, I don't recall meeting any applicant who has not been behind schedule at some point. Most applicants end up dropping at least one application later in the game to focus on the most important ones and catch up with delays.

I'm doing pretty good. I've filled out the online apps for most schools, or at least taken a first pass at them to fill out the basic stuff.

Have a first draft of 90% of my essays.

HBS is the first deadline so starting next week I am going to finalize everything for them.

wow.....

this is inspiring stuff. had thought that everyone would be slacking a-la me. But seeing that most of you are either on schdule, or about to get there, is really motivating.

Personally I had set a "aily to do"on the 1st of this month (I have to get a lot of things done tillI start visiting schools on 21st). An in seven days I have slippe 3 days behind schdule. An now theres an out of town wedding that I hadnt catered for earleir ;(

But seriously, after reading how you guys are getting your apps back on track, I too am inspired now

ok, I guess I'm one of the very few who underestimated the effort then... I will pay for it by delaying Kellogg to R2... maybe that's a good thing for my stress level! :)

On the other hand, I think that putting all your eggs in one R1 basket is not necessary. You are applying to those schools in R1 that you had planned for a long time. Based on what you mentioned on these threads, I think that you are at the same situation as mine (A little better, I guess). In that case, I think that trying to squeeze in Kellogg for R1 will either force you to put in a weak Kellogg app .. or worse still, will weaken all your other R1 applications.

So, again, my recommendation is to focus on Stan/Haas/UCLA for R1. And then give all your focus and effort to Kellogg after Stan's deadline is over (i.e. for R2)

thanks guys, yeah, I'm planning on doing what mNeo said. I'm not going to jeopardize my R1 apps for Stan/Haas/UCLA just to do Kellogg. If I finish all three with time to do Kellogg and still make it good, I'll submit it. If not, R2 is not going to be the end of the world for Kellogg.

Of course, watch me eat my own words when I get dinged by my top 3 choices in January and wish I submitted something for Kellogg! ;)

Hey! That attitude is not going to help us become classmates at Stan!

Michigan, Berkeley, UCLA and Stanford essays sent off to my reviewers this afternoon. UCLA and Stanford are still weak and too long, but I needed to get something off for feedback while I am on vacation.

Michigan's goals essay ballooned from 512 to 631 words when I added and changed some improved career material that I wrote for UCLA. I managed to get it down to 540, but it needs some short additional material still. Stupid 500 word goal essay, sigh.
