Is the two-digit prime number s equal to 19?

So the number is
(a) 2-digit
(b) Prime

(1) The sum of the digits of s is 10.
So s can be 19, 37, 73 ...

(2) The positive difference between the tens and units digits of s is 8.
the numbers with difference of 8 can be ONLY 19, 91, 80..
But s is prime, so only possibility is 19..
Suff

B

Hi chetan2u,

See the highlighted part, the questions says that 's' is a prime number, Is there need to consider non-prime numbers?
Correct me if i'm wrong

Regards

Hi

Yes we don’t have to consider and that is why I have written that numbers and not s with difference of 8 are19,91 and 80. Bit since s is prime it cannot be 91 or 80 and s is 19

Stat1: The sum of the digits of s is 10.
we can have s= 37 or 19, so, not sufficient.
Stat2: The positive difference between the tens and units digits of s is 8.
We have only 19 as option.

So, I think B. :)
