Sorry for being super late here -- just graduated from HBS (crazy how fast time flies), and life has been hectic!
extrakangaroo22 where did you decide, if you don't mind me asking? I'm obviously super biased, but I'm still curious
Also, regarding the following quote from

Quote:
The main reason is not because HBS is somehow better or somehow would give you something that Columbia could not (which you could argue both of those things by the way) but that you would potentially doubt and question your decision for a long time and occasionally find yourself having to explain to your unbelieving classmates and friends why you chose Columbia.
Reflecting on 2 years' worth of conversations with classmates, this seems to be one of the most common overlapping reasons why they eventually chose HBS (even over GSB), particularly the point around potentially questioning your decision down the road. People often try to argue whether, say, Kellogg will better prepare you for MBB, Columbia for banking, etc. but at the end of the day, for many the sheer question of, "What could my experience have been like if I went to HBS?" is persuasive enough for them to turn down even full-ride scholarships to other top schools. Lastly, I would argue that there isn't an industry in which HBS places badly. As much as people hate the H/S, H/S/W, blah blah blah worshipping, the fact is that the HBS brand carries considerable weight when recruiters see it on a resume, no matter the industry. I have both saw this personally and heard about it anecdotally from classmates during their recruiting processes for the past 2 years.
Either way, I'm sure you're going to have an amazing next 2 years!!
