if 3/4 is 1/4 more than x the x=3/4 - 1/4 = 1/2

B,

1st is insuff
2nd gives formulae, that has one solution for X, thus sufficient to say yes or no.

B it is. I originally read statement 2 and though that it could be -1/4 + 3/4.

St1:
-0.5 < x < 1.5
x can be 0<x<1 or x can be -0.5<x<-0.1. Insufficient.

St2:
3/4 = 1/4 + x
x = 1/2

So x is between 0 and 1. Sufficient.

It is B, since the value of x is given in 2 statement.

Guys, would you please explain to me - does "between" means "in the middle"? (for example x is between 5 and 0, is x = 2.5?) I have seen this terminology before and it always confuses me...
