Statement 1: xy > 1
We have no information about the value of z. NOT SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: yz > 1
We have no information about the value of x. NOT SUFFICIENT
Statements 1 and 2 combined
There are several values of x and y that satisfy BOTH statements. Here are two:
Case a: x = 2, y = 2, and z = 2. In this case, the answer to the target question is YES, xyz is greater than 1
Case b: x = -2, y = -2, and z = -2. In this case, the answer to the target question is NO, xyz is not greater than 1
Since we can’t answer the target question with certainty, the combined statements are NOT SUFFICIENT
