Hi
I have a 665 in FE with following profile:
- Engineering (Thapar 9.01/10) & XII 89%
- 4 YOE (2yrs+ Supply chain Consulting at Fractal and 2yrs Warehouse Demand Planning at Volvo Eicher)
- Book author (80+ copies sold on Amazon)
- Toastmasters (VP PR & Membership 2 years)
- Topmate mentorship (30+ calls 4.3/5)
- Social media blogging (5Mn+ views) through Linkedin & Quora
I am eyeing for R1 and done with Essay1 & LOR . Resume is also 90% completed. However, I am yet to start Essay2, Essay3 & Reapplicant essay.
I tried another FE today but couldn't improve the score. My questions:
1. Shall I try for one more gmat attempt and if still fails, apply with 665 in R2 with more efforts in essays & applications?
2. Go for R1 with 665 .. By completing the remaining essays in next 7 days?
Back to back GMAT Attempt has been tiring.. I can obviously give another one but not very hopeful beyond 675... Only luck can give me something around 685-695 (Already wrote the exam 3 times in past 3 months)
Also I am scared that what if I couldn't go beyond 665 and apply with same in R2, won't it be more competitive and tough for me...? Since R2 usually gets more competitive.
Posted from my mobile deviceLooking at your impressive background, I suggest you put your energy into writing compelling essays and wrapping up your ISB application. Your 665 GMAT Focus Edition score isn't the highest, but your other achievements can help offset it. Applying for Round 1 deadlines gives you the best shot at getting in if you can turn in a top-notch application. But if you need more time to perfect your application, Round 2 is also a good option. A 665 GMAT is a competitive score; if you need extra time to polish your essays, Round 2 can be valuable. I won't tell you to retake the GMAT again unless you're very confident you can boost your score by a lot. Taking it multiple times can wear you down, and you might not see much improvement. Remember, your GMAT score is just one piece of the puzzle. With your strong background and well-written essays, a 665 can still open doors. Put your energy into creating an overall application that shows off your unique experiences and accomplishments.
Good luck . I hope I could clear your confusion
