Hi. I am an undergraduate from IIT Hyderabad aiming for ISB YLP program. I have cleared my stage 1 and got selected for stage 2. I have written my gmat focus exam and scored 665 in centre.
Total : 665 (94%)
Quants : 88 (95%)
Verbal : 79 (51%)
Data Insights: 82 (94%)
(If required : Cgpa 8.3, 10th and 12th - 98%)
I am confused if I am supposed to take a retest due to the low verbal percentile but i have heard few of the ylp admits as well as consultants say that schools such as isb and uva darden consider ONLY total score and percentile and nothing else for evaluation while another consultant said that a minimum of 60% is required on verbal to get admission. Can somebody confirm this?
ISB is my dream college so I want to be sure before going ahead with the application process.
Posted from my mobile device@GedelaSaiSravya - whether you should retake the exam for ISB would depend on:
- Did you score better in mocks, and if so, what caused the difference in the actual test?
- Can you improve on the verbal (and overall) score if you prepare during the next weeks, addressing gaps?
- Can the rest of your profile compensate for the verbal score? Ofcourse, this would require a deeper understanding of your profile.
For Darden, a higher score will definitely help.

Arvind
