Hi Prashant,

A 700+ score is definitely desirable when applying to ISB. If you are looking for a more indepth profile evaluation, you must give further details about yourself- do mention about your work - what are your key responsibilities and achievements? your extra culrricular actvities? what are your career goals and why do you want an MBA now?

Hi Mayank,

This is not a profile which stands out, across all areas- acads (whether its the brand or the scores), work ex (need to know more) or extra-curricular. For making the cut, you need to have a few great projects, top performer tags, etc at work and obviously, the story needs to be projected very well in the application. Aim for a 720+ GMAT.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach out for further queries.

Hello!
You have an impressive profile. Good acads + GMAT, rich and diverse work-ex, extra-curricular add to the well-rounded experience you bring to the table. A number of times stellar profiles don't make it either due to the way application is written (problem of plenty) or probably in your case, interview didnt go well.

If you can send across your essays, we'd be able to better advise on the way forward and what couldve gone wrong.

All the best!

Hi Soumya,

Its always good to aim high for the GMAT. Be at your best preparation because you dont know what score you will eventually get on test day.

Your profile description sounds interesting, but I'd like to know more about your work - what do you do at work? what are your key achievements, how has your career grown?
Secondly, why do you want to do an MBA? what are your post MBA goals?
Thirdly, what are your current extra curricular activities (outside of what you did at college)?

Hi Jatin,

You have a good profile overall.
Talking about specifics, the GPA is low and thus a higher GMAt score in the 730 range will surely help.
Regarding your work experience, you have some good stuff going. The nature of your work is differentiated from most other ISB applicant's and you must get the best out of it by showing its relevance to the current world, how you have had the chance to work on mega million $$ projects (assumption) and also make an impact. Having goals that relate to your past experience of 7 years will also help to show a coherent storyline. The second thing here is your leadership experience- you have a good chunk of it. Again, this is an important aspect in the b-school application and it must come through via every section in teh application- resume, essays and recommendation.

Your international work experience can be leveraged to say that you have an understanding of your field across several countries and how that gives you a unique perspective to contribute at the ISB classroom.

I dont see much of extra-curricular activities in your recent life and that is an area you can certainly build upon.

Another area where you need to work hard wrt applications is your career goals story. You don't seem to have a plan in place as to what you will do post MBA. Well, b-schools expect a granular plan which includes the short term and the long term goals with mentions of the industry and function where you will join. So you need to do some deep thinking and introspection at your end to know what you wish to achieve through the MBA.
