Hi,

It will be difficult to evaluate your profile without more information.
1. what do you do at work? what are your achievements? What is your career progress like?
2. What are your leadership experiences in extra curricular activities outside your work life?
3. Your GMAT is still an unknown.

Hi All,

Kindly evaluate my profile for ISB admissions.
I am yet to give GMAT. How much should I target cumulatively?

Hi Prashant,

Thanks for the detailed view of our profile. It really helps.

You've got great work experience - you've got indepth sales experience (national level strategy, planning, managing dealerships, process optimization etc) and also picked up some important tools such as analytics and digital marketing, which are crucial in today's business. This is beneficial both from the application standpoint as well as the post MBA employment (which is an element to consider for b-schools when evaluating your profile).

Your extracurriculars, esp. over the past 8 years since you started working, seem to be thin. While college ECAs will still be relevant but the school ECAs are really old and should not be mentioned in the application.

The GMAT is still an unknown, but you must aim for a 700+ to have a competitive advantage

Hi Naveen,

While academics are not your strongest suite, the rich ~8 years' work experience within the business transformation and application space gives you an edge. Your post MBA goals to get into tech consulting also flow well with your experience. In addition, we see an emerging theme of sports (football and cricket) which should be highlighted to show how you'd add to the experience of the class through active participation at the ISB Super League (ISL).
Aim for a 700+ GMAT score.

Hi Soumya,

You have an impressive profile and a 'diverse' one wrt majority of the applicant pool for ISB. A 680-700 final score should put you in good stead but do aim higher. There is bound to be a blip on the test day vs what you aim for. Work-ex (and related activities) are good. Are you continuing with one of the items listed in the extra-curricular section, for e.g. organizing events or classical? It would help demonstrate the passion and continuity.

All the best!

Hello Vaibhav,

Prima facie, the profile looks fine with a decent mix of acads, work ex and extra-curricular. Would need to know more on the work-ex bit, what type of projects, laurels, etc you've got.
At this level of work experience, you should aim for a 720+ in the GMAT.

Hope this helps!

All the best!

Hello!

Overall, a good profile and you'd stand a fair chance at conversion. Solid work ex focusing on process improvements (assuming focus on problem solving + consultative nature of work) across three different industries and big brands gives you an edge along with the passion for music, which can be utilized at the Music Club (or called the Jukebox Project now) at ISB. At this level of experience, switching industries sometimes gets a bit challenging. However, if you're looking for consulting opportunities within the sectors you've worked in, then it shouldn't be an issue. Your GMAT score and acads tick all the relevant boxes as well.

All the best!

Hi Sonia,

Looks like you are applying as an EEO. I'd still like to see instances of leadership and excellence in your profile. Do share more details about your achievements at college, work and in extra curricular activities

Hi Sonia,

Could you add a bit more color to your work-ex (for e.g. instances where you demonstrated leadership, took initiative beyond the call of duty, etc) and extra-curricular/interests? Based on what you shared, you should focus on making strides at your work for the next 1-2 years and aim for at least a 700+ at the GMAT.

Hope this helps!
