If you were getting 715 on mocks, I would say: go for it krispy289.

p.s. Incidentally, the GMAT FE algo for Quant is very brutal. So, you might actually end up finding that GMAT penalized you heavily for just one or two wrong questions that you got wrong (out of 21) on Quant.

Then you are lucky :).

There have been people who have reported Q79, with just two wrong!

Or go thru this: one question wrong and Q80: https://gmatclub.com/forum/only-1-q-wrong-on-quant-yet-only-a-score-of-432984.html

Hi krispy289,

Thank you for sharing your profile and GMAT score. Let’s evaluate your current standing and whether you should consider retaking the GMAT for ISB Round 1.

Profile Analysis
Academics:
Your academic background is solid with a 9.8 CGPA in 10th grade, 85.6% in 12th grade, and a B.Tech degree with a 7.65 GPA from NIT Bhopal. While NIT Bhopal is a top college, there is severe competition from Tier 1 institutions such as top IITs and BITS. Nonetheless, your consistent academic performance reflects your capability and dedication.

Work Experience:
You have five years of experience in consulting and analytics. This extensive experience in a high-demand field is highly valued by ISB and aligns well with their typical applicant profile. Your expertise in consulting and analytics will be a strong asset to your application.

Extracurricular Activities:
Your year of full-time work with an NGO demonstrates a strong commitment to social causes and adds a unique dimension to your profile. This experience showcases your leadership, dedication, and ability to make a significant impact outside your professional work.

GMAT Score:
Your GMAT score of 675 is competitive, especially with strong percentiles in all sections. The new GMAT Focus Edition changes the landscape, and your balanced and high percentiles indicate that your score is strong and competitive for ISB.

Real Chances and Recommendations
Estimated Chance for ISB R1: 65-70%

Your overall profile is strong with solid academics, significant work experience in consulting and analytics, and meaningful extracurricular involvement. Given the new GMAT Focus Edition and your balanced score, you have a competitive profile for ISB.

Should You Retake the GMAT?

If you believe you can significantly improve your score to 700+ without compromising your application quality, it might be worth considering. However, your current score is already competitive given your strong profile.
Focus on strengthening other aspects of your application, such as your essays, recommendations, and interview preparation, which can have a significant impact.
