Hello, would appreciate some feedback for ISB!
Today I gave my 2nd try at GMAT and scored 625 - I don't know how, but I messed up big in DI (75 score) that I never did in practice. With this, my hopes of applying to R1 started fading away and I got confused if I should applyin R1 or wait until R2. I am only applying to this one college as I want to be in India and do 1 year MBA only. Will I face more comepetition in R2 or R1 is better with below profile?
My first draft for essays are almost done and will be completed in 2 days.
Academics:
Higherst GMAT score - 645
10th - 9.5 cgpa, 12th - 86%
BTech CSE from NIT Warangal - CGPA - 8.52
Professional Experience:
- SDE Intern, Microsoft for 2 months
- SDE, Citrix (Bangalore) for 1.9 years - No promotion.
- Did an Ed-Tech startup on the side for 1 year along with citrix and scaled to 10L/year. Quit my job to pursue it full time but had to stop because co-founder parted ways.
- Next 8 months - Explored my marketing passion, designed websites, learnt Google Ads - Worked with 10 Doctors on GAds Strategy (still doing)
- Now, Working in Marketing Consulting Job (as a Manager) for 6 Months
Co-curricular:
- Multiple Leadership positions in college for 3 years - Class Representative, Club Secretary, Placement Coordinator
- Worked with a startup on side for 1 year in college
Why MBA - After exploring, I understood that I love Marketing + Leadership roles. My current profile is much focused on Digital Marketing and it would limit me after few years. MBA would help me to get the roles I want to target in early state startups. I also want to enhance my leadership + management skills since I have started working as a manager now.
Yet to get Recommendation from: College prof, Client (for which I ran GAds)
Why ISB - I have 3 years of experience as of now. Have a direction that I want to pursue. Want maximum returns as 1 year MBA is effective for me from time perspective as well + the diversity it offers.
