Plz advise as to:
1. Which institute should i join for Gmat prep in weekdays batches
2.What should my approach be towards selecting colleges and doing MBA in which area would benefit me more as as per my experience
Hi Deep,
First, you're switching your career, so you need to convince ADcom ( Admission committees of Business school) why you want to change your profession, Adcom wants to make sure that you are an ideal candidate for the business school ,and that by completing MBA in a few years you don't get fed of the same profession and start looking for some other profession, so for that matter you need to evaluate your strengths ,weaknesses , personality traits and future goals. Because MBA is not just about money,it's more about managing yourself, company resources, and people associated with business,
Second, about GMAT coaching institute, don't make a decision hastily to join any institute cause there are people out there who are preying on people like you, they will talk big eg, they say they would do this or that, would show you glory posters and testimonies of former students , but after payment you would be after them and they not listen to you, it has happened to me. my recommendation stay away from jamboree at least, they are definitely old in the business but value for money is zero, highly unprofessional.
Third,There are new institutes in the market, since they are in process of establishing themselves so 1st they won't rip you off by charging 31 thousand like the way jamboree does, 2nd they would give you attention so that they could get word of mouth advertisement from you,my suggestion would be take trail classes, ask many question, do as much research as you can, evaluate all the pros and cons and then make decision.
in the end, since you are from merchant navy so getting admission in a good business school should ideally not be much of a hassle due to your job profile, cause adcom is little generous on people from army or navy background.
Hope that helps.
