Also received my interview invite today. On the e-mail it's said "We strongly encourage you to come to Ithaca for your interview." They don't offer another means of interviewing, e.g by phone. Do you think I can ask them for a phone interview? I live in Brazil and scheduling a trip for the next days would not be very easy.

When you call to schedule, your account admin should be able to help you schedule a Skype/phone interview. It might be a little late to arrange a last minute alumni interview, but it doesn't hurt to inquire. Everybody at Johnson is extremely nice and from my experience try to accommodate their applicants.

If you have a question in your mind, I think you should do it. If you did not (and worst case scenario you did not get in), you might wonder "what if" - in my mind eliminating as many "what if"s as possible is a positive thing.

(I'm assuming this big change is a positive thing? And if so, congratulations!

)

Yes. By deafult the adcom encourage you to interview in campus however if you are international just reply to them and they will make apppropiate arrangement. If given an option, go for alum interview over telephone/skype even if it means traveling within your country.

Well, it aint that big a news for application purpose. Until you have the citizenship you will still be considered a part of the pool from the country where you have the current citizenship from.

Anyone care to venture a guess on when they might start calling admitted applicants? Looking at past rounds they called as early as 2 weeks in r1, and a week before in r2 (although that seemed to be mostly consortium) and then a lot of calls on fri/mon/tues(decision day).

Wondering if it's worth getting anxious starting Monday or maybe not until Friday? Seems there has been a wave of late interview invites with people scheduling interviews as late as the day before decisions are released so I wonder if that will affect things at all. Can't wait to hear back, really want this one.

For hotel, unless you want to stay somewhere specifically close to Johnson or collegetown, I would just hotwire it. I got a good rate at the Best Western, but would need a car to get around.

Not sure how much the coach is, but there is a lot of benefit to not driving for 4 hours and being able to do other stuff. Plus I heard there is wifi on the bus, so it might be a plus. Not sure how much it costs to get to Ithaca, that might be a deciding factor.

If you want to stay closer, there is the hotel (forgot the name) attached to the hospitality school which is right next to Johnson. Other than that I do not know.

Hope you enjoy your trip out to Ithaca.
