So I started the online application process but never actually got to finish it and submit it by R3. I have counted Cornell out until today when I received an email from admissions saying that they are still accepting applications for the last round of rolling admissions with a deadline of June 3rd (which I was not aware of), and that they are "working closely with candidates daily and hope to have the opportunity to consider you for admission". Has anyone else gotten this message now or last year? I wonder if they sent this to everyone who's started an application but never finished it or were somewhat selective about the mailing list?
I can't say what the criteria was for getting that email, however I'd like to pose these questions.
How much of your information was uploaded or inputed into the system? Can the admissions officers even access an application before it's complete? Would it even be worth the admissions officer's time to look through applications that haven't been completed?
IMO, it's likely that the email was an automated email sent to all of those people that started an application, but didn't finish to let them know that they're still taking applications. There's probably still a few spots in the class left open and probably a lot of hopefuls still waiting on the waiting list.
