For x = -4, second part becomes -(4^2 - 1^2) = -15 which is less than 8

Hello pls help me to understand this task.
"City A and City B are located 610 kilometers (km) apart from each other on Highway X. At 8:00 a.m., Alonzo began driving along Highway X from City A to City B at an average driving speed of 90 kilometers per hour (km/h). At 9:30 a.m., on the same day, Ryan began driving along Highway X from City 8 to City A at an average driving speed of 100 km/h. How long, in hours and minutes to the nearest minute, did Ryan drive before meeting Alonzo on Highway X?

If Alonso began driving at 8 AM at speed of 90 kmph, he will cover 90 X 1.5 = 135 kms.
Distance left = 610 -135 = 475 kms

now, Ryan begin driving from B to A at speed of 100kmph

Distance = 475 km
Speed = 100 + 90 ( since both of them are driving towards each other)

Time = Distance / speed
= 475 / 190 = 2.5 hrs
