Rolling my ass

I'm starting to think the theory that acceptances will happen on the 29th might be correct. Also, apparently the yield on interviews for the other deferred programs has been crazy high, so hoping that bodes well for Kellog as well!!!

Definitely starting to believe the 29th theory.

I have friends who also applied to them this year and last year. I know Wharton accepted 200 this year and from another post I think on this forum they interviewed not that much more than that. MIT accepted 160 this year and I’m not positive on the total interviewed but I know they only accepted 100 last year so the program is a lot bigger. I think this makes sense given COVID that schools want to lock in the top candidates that they can!

can you accept multiple deferred programs? overall curious at how ironclad these acceptances are...like is it similar to applying ED and can only accept one/not able to apply down the line to other programs?

havent seen any info regarding this just curious if anyone has an idea

this is untrue - Wharton gave out at least 300 interviews based on back-of-the-envelope calculations. you're right on the 200 figure

yes unless it says otherwise - only one deferred program has said anything like that so far

Just suggested bc I know for booth scholars portal was updated differently for those who got in or not prior to actual release date! (Same day though)

Posted from my mobile device

Do you know what the differences in the portal were for those who got in vs. those who didn’t? I received my interview invite on June 11th but still have no updates on my app.
I think its also worth mentioning that we all have been calculating number of interviews for kellogg based on the fact that we thought interviews started on 14 june, if someone now says they had theirs on 11 june, its all the more reason to believe interview invites might have been sent as early as 4/5 june. so we really dont have any accurate estimates so far.

true but its safe to assume the number falls somewhere between 120 and 200

Just so everyone is aware, Kellogg's average class size is smaller than some of the other M7 schools. For example, Wharton's class size is over 800 and Kellogg's is under 500. They're not going to accept 200 people or 40% of the class through the KFL program.

Hopefully they take at least a quarter though. There is however an extra year here with the deferment that might allow room for more applicants. I feel like most programs allow for up to 4 years but Kellogg is 5.

Yeah not everyone interviewed is going to get accepted. It could be on the optimistic side considering that if accepted we can enroll over 2-5 years. My interviewer asked me my expected enroll year (2024) so perhaps they can spread the KFL program out a bit but they probably won’t go too deep into that analysis.

I think a big difference here is that KFL can commit to any program FT, PT, 1 yr.

Agreed - worth acknowledging that the deferred group isn’t all going to matriculate at the same time, so I don’t think predicting 150 acceptances is unreasonable! Also, my mistake on Wharton, I though I read here that there were 240 interview slots.

having acceptances spread across 5 years will definitely help but given that it's the first year of the program and Kellogg tends to have smaller class sizes, they will likely not admit the same raw # of students as established deferred MBA programs at larger b schools

When committing to a deferred program, it is pretty implicit you aren't committed to others (but at worst, you lose the deposit fee).

Only Wharton Advance Access has made it explicitly clear that it violates your offer agreement (along with losing your deposit) if you apply to other MBA programs.
