I would greatly appreciate it if you could provide some feedback.

Nationality: S. Korea
Undergraduate majors: Accounting and Finance
GMAT: 720 (Quant: 49, Verbal: 40, IR: 8, waiting on AWA)
GPA: 3.57
Work experience: 4 years and 6 months in public accounting (Big 4)

I am mainly looking at Top 20 with particularly Columbia, Wharton and Cornell in mind. But really, I know I am shooting for the stars so any of the top 20 schools would just make me walk on air.

Thank you!

Congratulations on your great GMAT score. You have a great profile. If you can focus on your profile building, it is not difficult to get admission in your dream school.

Hi leilahjo,

Stats wise, I think you have a pretty solid profile. Wharton and Columbia are of course extremely competitive, but give them a shot, and have some other schools in the Top 20 too (like Cornell and others depending on your career interests). The MBA admissions process is a holistic one, where not just your GPA / GMAT stats matter. Your chances will depend on other factors too like your progression at work, your demonstrated leadership qualities, your activities outside work and personal accomplishments, and your career goals. With limited information on those areas, it's harder to evaluate your chances, but overall I think you have the makings of a strong application. Feel free to reach out or sign up for a free phone consultation if you'd like to discuss in more detail!

Best,
Kate

Hi,
I had the HBS interview a couple of weeks ago. Just two days after, I was contacted by HBS Admission´s office to send my official exam results.
A week after the interview, one of my recommenders was contacted by Re Vera Services on HBS behalf, asking him 3 simple questions on the recommendation.
Are all the interviewees contacted, or does it mean that they already made the decision to admit?
I thought that the background check was after the admission´s letter.

Hi there,
That doesn't sound like a full background check, just a step as part of the application review. I have heard of similar requests to other applicants, though I'm not able to verify whether all interviewed applicants received the same request. So I wouldn't assume anything just yet, and you will know for sure next week. I know the waiting is tough but hang in there, and good luck!
