Let x years ago Lyle’s age twice Melanie’s age
i.e. 23-x = 2*(15-x)
i.e. 23-x = 30-2x
i.e. x = 7

Difference between Lyle and Melanin's age = 23-15 = 8
That means when Melanie was born Lyle was already of age 8.
Therefore Lyle was twice the age of Melanie when = 8*2 = 16
Lyle was of 16 Years and
Melanie was 8.
There current age = 23,15
The difference between two age = 23-16 = 7 years
Answer is B
