Each will pay 80 *0.02 = 1.6 dollars

Combined they would pay 160 * 0.02 = 3.2 dollars
discount od 25 % = 3/4 *3.2 = 2.4.

Each contribution will 1.2 dollars

Money Saved per person would be 1.6 - 1.2 = 0.4 dollars

B answer

The discount is on the quantity beyond 100 and not on the overall.
Options are wrong.
Actual answer should be 0.15 $

Total cost for 160 copies = (100*0.02) + (0.75*60*0.02) = $ 2.9
Each person needs to pay = $ 1.45

Without discount cost for each person = 80 * 0.02 = $1.6

Hence savings = 1.6 -1.45 = 0.15

Bunuel, I think the "discount on the quantity" line is confusing. Because I also solved for a discount beyond 100 copies

The wording in the question is clear and doesn’t need any change. It states, “orders exceeding 100 photocopies receive a 25% discount,” which means the entire order gets the discount if it exceeds 100 copies, not just the portion above 100.

So for 160 copies at $0.02 each, the full cost is $3.20. With a 25% discount, the total becomes $2.40. Each person pays $1.20 instead of $1.60, saving $0.40 each. The original solution is correct.

I think the wording is very bad and confusing. The question should be edited to make it more clearly understandable.

I strongly disagree. The wording is perfectly fine. If you found it confusing, it might be better to reread it more carefully. Nothing ambiguous or misleading here. It’s just not that easy of a question.
