I like the solution - it’s helpful. Tricky one. I ended up just carrying and subtracting 11-3 to get 8, which I know now doesn't make sense to do.

Just to clarify, the answer is 2 and since the second number is larger and so the difference will be in negative?

Just to clarify, the answer is 2 and since the second number is larger and so the difference will be in negative?
Yes. The expression is negative because the second number is larger.

The first number has units digit 1, and the second has units digit 3. Since the expression is first - second, the result is negative, like 11 - 13 = -2, whose units digit is 2.

So the answer is 2.
