Hi guys can anyone help with this question
If a man sells x oranges for a dollar, he loses 45 percent. By how much percentage should the man reduce his cost to make a profit of 10 percent on selling 2x oranges in a dollar?

A. 25%
B. 50%
C. 75%
D. 150%
E. 300%

I dont understand why its 1/0.55 not 1/0.45. The question says he looses 45% which means the cost price is 0.45 . Please help

Did anyone have an appointment to take the GMAT today in the morning at 10:00 am and if yes, was your GMAT cancelled too? Does anyone have any information regarding mba.com and todays Amazon Web Services outage?

Today, Wednesday, October 22, 2025, I was scheduled to take the GMAT online test at 10:00 AM.
At 9:30 AM, I opened the exam and went through all the checks with the proctor. Once they were finished, he said, "OK, everything’s perfect. Now relax and good luck."

Not even a minute later, before I could see the first page of the GMAT, I got a warning saying a "virtual machine" had been detected.
I didn’t even have time to call the proctor before everything shut down. Too bad I didn’t have, and still don’t have, a virtual machine (I didn’t even know what a virtual machine is).

I tried to rejoin the test, but it said, "Your test is suspended." I wrote to customer support and called, but no one was able to help me (I’m still waiting for a response from [email protected]).

I haven’t tried copying anything, and I don’t have any virtual machines on my PC (it must have been a false AI detection).
Does anyone know how to help me? I need to run the test by tomorrow, otherwise I won’t have time to send the application.
Please, if anyone has any contacts or knows how to do this, please help me.

Hi guys can anyone help with this question

loss of 0.45 from 1 is 1-0.45 = 0.55

They will get back to you eventually, but from my experience there is nothing you can do to speed it up unfortunately. You are dependent on their speed and have to wait patiently for an answer from them

Hey!Took the GMAT today and I thought I was doing super good in quants that I thought I’d get Q90 because the questions were super easy . I don’t know how did I ended up getting Q76.
Verbal was brutal and I thought my score will tank in it but V82.
DI was the worst of all with D72. I don’t even know what did I do there.

I have used up all my strategies and honestly I don’t know what else to prepare. Was preparing from Expert’s Global and GMAT Club tests but I don’t know which approach to use anymore. I plan to take the exam again as soon as possible (preferably within 2 months). Any help would be appreciated!

For the equation to hold good x must be less than 5. However any set of numbers in that range will hold the equation true. The value of X in the first option has set of all negative numbers. Set of all negative numbers is still in the range of X<5. So it will still hold good
