Is the harvard news of fee waivers also applicable for the MBA programs?
If you are referring to the recent news about free tuition for family with income less than $200,000, that’s for Harvard College - the undergraduate program.
Financial aids for graduate programs are usually subject to different policies.
So the news from Harvard undergrad that made the news is actually not that new. Harvard has always had a policy of providing need based scholarships. In the past they would provide a full need based scholarship if you make less than $56,000 a year in MBA. And the smaller scholarship amount if you make more money than that or have greater personal worth to a certain threshold.
And I assume there is a similar threshold for undergrad, probably set at 140,000 or 120,000 or maybe 100,000 for a family, I don’t know as I don’t track undergrad. Now that amount has been increased to 200,000 but you have to read the fine print if that’s the upper limit or the lower limit. Again the lower limit is where you get a full scholarship and the upper limit is where it’s phased out.
But basically they have increased the eligibility threshold for need based aid.
This exists for MBA as well.
