Is Geometry Tested GMAT Focus? Not officially ... but it is still lurking
When GMAC announced the introduction of GMAT Focus in April 2023, one of the key aspects was a simple and clear statement that Geometry would no longer be tested on GMAT Focus. It seemed a very clear and simple message. However, the reality ended up being much more complicated. Here is the latest overview of the status of Geometry questions on GMAT Focus and the best way I have been able to explain it:
Geometry formulas such as volume of a pyramid or area of a circle are no longer tested on GMAT Focus. However, the test is still using geometry concepts to test other areas (examples below).

There are also reports from surprised GMAT test takers who have run into questions that use Geometry concepts on the test. We cannot post those questions due to GMAC rules, but there have been plenty of feedback

- Geometry Formulas are no longer tested on GMAT Focus
- Understanding of general concepts such as Area, Perimeter and Figure properties is still tested.
- You will likely encounter a question that may have a geometry reference on the GMAT. If you do, it will be only in the Problem Solving section and all needed formulas should be provided (besides the most basic area and perimeter ones)
- Note: Coordinate Geometry is classified as Functions by GMAC and therefore was never removed or adjusted. Coordinate Geometry is still tested on the GMAT

Hope you are doing well! Thank you for this post, I was reviewing the Gmat Club Math workbook recently (super amazing resource btw!), and would like to request you to add the Geometery ques as well. Although there is cordinate geo in the workbook, I would still like to see other geometry questions that can still be tested on GMAT FE. As quite a few of the test takers in their reddit and gmat club posts have shared these horrors.
