Hi, I took 4 of manhattanprep's simulations, and got the feeling that the verbal level is pretty high in comparison to the gmac simulation tests. I got in most of manhattanprep's simulations ~20-25 questions in the "hard level" (700-800), but the verbal score was around 32-34 (which is around 680-700 final score with Q51). This seems pretty odd to me, since a perfect ("800-ish") score in quant suppose to yield a final ~700 score with a ~600 level in the verbal section, meaning I will see mostly 600-700 questions (and 500-600 questions).
I read in few places around here that the quant is much harder than in the real gmat, but couldn't find any resource stating that same about the verbal section. Also, I found nothing on the reliability of the scoring algorithm.
Anybody to help?

omerdoron , What I have heard is actually the opposite that the quant on MGMAT mocks is harder than GMAC practice exams.
Maybe they have changed something.
For obtaining the closest simulation to taking the GMAT, mba.com practice exams are the best.
Algorithms are definitely secret, but I think experts could erase some of the mystery around the scoring algorithm based on their experience.

The GMAT algorithm is not secret. It's also not something a test taker should normally worry about (here's a post by IanStewart and a Wikipedia entry, just in case).
There are certain "secret" constraints that GMAC introduces, but these are more for content balancing and test security. The basic process is not secret: create experimental questions, determine the characteristics [the three parameters: difficulty, discrimination, and chance ("pseudo-guessing")] of good questions, and then present these questions to test takers with the objective of producing the most likely score given the pattern the test taker produces.
TL;DR: The GMAT algorithm is not a secret. It is the actual GMAT questions (combination of non-public and public but unusable because of copyright), question characteristics (proprietary, non-public), and test-taker pool that test prep companies looking to create GMAT-like tests don't have access to.
