Hi All,
I have a few generic questions in my quest for deciding why MBS and other related FAQs.
I would like to request anyone who has already been admitted or even who are currently applying and have done thorough research on MBS and on Germany to please share his/her experience on the below questions. Any alumni or current student active on this forum please? I am sure many other prospective applicants like myself would have similar questions. Would be helpful for many of us.
Here are my questions:
- What are the reasons for choosing Germany as an MBA destination?
- What are the reasons for choosing MBS?
- The school website mentions that living expenses in Mannheim per month would average around €1000. Considering 6 months of buffer time to land a job, I am preparing for 18 months of expenses. So considering that, the estimate comes to about €55k. Is that a safe estimate to be preparing for, or should I allow more buffer?
- How is the RoI at MBS? What is the usual repayment period? I am dependent on student loans for almost about 60-65% of the entire expense (tuition + personal expenses). Is it a risky investment, to be replying on student loans for about 65% of the expense?
- How is the job market in Germany currently? I understand that Germany is the strongest economy in Europe at the moment, but is it strong enough to land a similar post-MBA role that one can expect in US or Canada or Singapore?
- How practically feasible is it to learn German over the course of MBA? From my interaction with non-German speaking students and alumni, I gathered that learning German during the program is extremely difficult and is not very practically feasible.
- What do German employers value and require the most? An MBS degree, or German skills or pre-MBA relevant work experience? If it is the last 2, how does an MBA from MBS makes one competitive in the German job market?
- Do most students who prefer to work in Germany find some sort of employment in Germany? I want to know historical data about approximately what % of graduates annually want to find employment in Germany, but fail to do so and have to return back to their home countries?
- What is the international recognition of the program? The question basically can also be read as what options do graduates have if they fail to find employment in Germany? Do employers outside of Germany value and recognise an MBA from MBS?
- I have heard that German employers value specialised education more than they value an MBA. How much of a factor does this play in finding decent post-MBA roles?
- How strong is MBS's reputation in placing students in the Technology industry? What kind of roles do usually graduates land immediately after graduation in the Technology Industry?
- How much can MBS graduates practically expect to earn after graduation? It is hard to find that sort of information readily available on public domain. Is it fair to expect in the range of €50-55K in the Technology Industry?
- How much should be the average repayment period with about 70% loan and about €50K salary? Is there any reference or website that I can refer that lists out average cost of living in Germany for both singles and families?
