We need As man As

Only option B,C,D has

D) used both Have and Had and totally crap

Now what we are comparing ?

We are comparing two timelines
A) last three months
B) Times in Past

Option C has beautifully Compared two timeline although
Quote:
as was the case
sounds awkward ,the option is grammatically correct.

Many scientists believe that coronal holes, located in the Sun’s corona or outer atmosphere, are larger than ever before: more than three times as many particles have escaped into interplanetary space in the last three months than was the case at any time in the past.

A. escaped into interplanetary space in the last three months than was the case

B. escaped into interplanetary space in the last three months as it did

C. in the last three months escaped into interplanetary space as was the case

D. in the last three months had escaped into interplanetary space as

E. in the last three months escaped into interplanetary space than

Hi! KarishmaB DmitryFarber
I thought the comparison should have 'as many particles have... as have/ some other verb form'
I am still unable to draw the comparison using 'the case' here. Not able to fit in 'as was the case' here
Seeking your guidance.
TIA!

There's a simple explanation. This highly unofficial question makes no sense. You can't compare the volume of particles in the last 3 months to "the case," nor does it make sense to compare a span of time to "any time in the past" without specifying a duration. I'd definitely ignore this one.

It is an SC question from an unknown source! I strongly advise only official sources for all Verbal questions.
