Well I don't see any errors in D. B is incorrect because of wrong tense.
My pick would be D

D sounds like Martin Luther King Jr. is no longer the most famous person

B is the correct answer. It uses the correct "comma subject" and "and" rule.

Hi!

Quote:
D. Martin Luther King Jr. was the most famous leader of the American civil rights movement, the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, and he won the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

This option isn't parallel. The winner .... he won (The is || to he). For parallelism the part of speech should be the same. Even if we don't see it from the point of view of parallelism, 'he won' is not at all necessary, let alone incorrect.
Option B, on the other hand, is perfectly parallel without any unnecessary words.

Hope it helps

Regards,
V

Kindly allow me to correct you.
Quote:
Martin Luther King Jr. won the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and was the most famous leader of the American civil rights movement.

A. Martin Luther King Jr. won the Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and was the most famous leader of the American civil rights movement.
This answer choice shifts the meaning to the prizes won from the main point of the statement.

B. Martin Luther King Jr., the most famous leader of the American civil rights movement, won the Nobel Peace Prize and the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Succinct and conveys the meaning without introducing any errors or ambiguity.

C. Martin Luther King Jr., the most famous leader of the American civil rights movement, won the Nobel Peace Prize and he won thePresidential Medal of Freedom.
The reuse of the phrase, "he won the" makes it verbose.

D. Martin Luther King Jr. was the most famous leader of the American civil rights movement, the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, and he won the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Change of tense. In addition to that, it makes the last part of the statement almost an accessory to the main point, which was not the intention. It is as much a part of the sentence as are the other sections of the sentence.

E. Martin Luther King Jr., the most famous leader of the American civil rights movement, won the Nobel Peace Prize as well as the Presidential Medal of Freedom, too.
Redundancy

I hope this clears some confusion.

Cheers! :-)
