For Imperial’s MSc Strategic Marketing, you
can apply without a GMAT ( they don’t require it ) but your CGPA is on the lower side compared to their usual 2:1 benchmark. They do look at applications holistically, though, so your consulting experience + extracurriculars definitely help. If you can get a solid GMAT score by February, it will strengthen your profile quite a bit, especially since your undergrad isn’t in a quantitative field
For UCL MSc Management, they also ask for the equivalent, but they’re known to consider the overall profile and relevant work experience if academics aren’t perfect. Warwick MiM / MSc Management might be slightly more flexible with GPA equivalents, and they usually appreciate strong work experience, so that could be a good “target/safe” option for you
PS : Make sure your essays clearly explain why you want a management/marketing degree given your English Honours background and how your consulting experience prepared youMalavikar
Hi, I am currently in the process of drafting my applications for MiM or MSc Marketing related courses in the UK and would be honored to get some insights. This is my first post on GMAT Club, apologies if I am on the wrong track.UG DetailsUniversity: Delhi University (Tier 1 college in India)Degree: B.A. English HonorsCGPA: 6.8 / 10Work Experience- 2 years at a client facing role in consulting, worked with team in London and Dublin serving clients across European regions
Extra curricular/NGO activities- Senior member of women development cell and music societies back in college
- Miss South India runner up
- Social Impact leader of my organization and heavily involved in not for profit activities in India
Post MiM Goals- Strategic consulting role
- Need to grasp theoretical knowledge in management as my bachelor's didn't gave me that, with the right amount of experience I think this is the correct time
Some specific questions- I am planning to give my GMAT during February to be completely prepared, however I would like to apply for the following courses (that doesn't require GMAT) before it's too late: Imperial MSc Strategic Marketing
While I understand I am on the lowest side of CGPA, I need to get an idea if I will be able to apply for this course in terms of eligibility or is it better to give GMAT and make up for the low CGPA and apply?- I have heard some univeristies consider holistic profiles, not entirely sure of Imperial. Their First class seems to be 70%, is that correct. If so, I'd directly be ineligible.
- Is UCL MSc Management wort the shot or is Warwick MiM better?
