I have 2 yrs of full-time freelancing experience working in a Hedge fund however I’m an electronics engineering bachelor with 6.9 CGPA, I hade a gap of 7 months before I joined the corporation where I developed an individual project (precisely a algo trading bot). Current unemployed since 4 months but I’m preparing for GMAT and volunteering in an NGO which helps me show and build leadership skills. Having made quite good projects for both individual and the corporation, and an essay which links them well. Can 695 gmat help me get into SPJIMR Mumbai or NUS Singapore?

I’m looking for MBA in finance

695 Should be enough, filling the work gaps is smart.

Great work ex. 645 is right at their average. Leveraging your international experience and leadership, you should be a competitive candidate.

Ha! I will try to be fast! ;)

Since I’m here - I wanted to do a quick question - Anyone more inclined to study in UK/EU (outside the US) for this coming application cycle?

Hi!
I have worked at early-stage startups for the last 4 years and have been part of the founding team. My experience includes working with LLMs and AI systems. I also have some experience as a freelancer, and I’m trying to turn my freelancing into a small business. I want to use my technology and entrepreneurship experience to start a business post MBA. I have a 635 in GMAT FE. What schools in Europe, not UK would be the right fit for me?

Do you have any international experience? If so, INSEAD would be a great choice. If not, it may be a little harder to get in as that is one thing they are looking for ahead of starting the program.
Beyond that HEC Paris, ESADE, IE - all amazing programs that will focus on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Does working with international clients as a freelancer count as international experience? Thanks btw, this was helpful!

Yes - working with clients across different cultures is what they are looking for - someone that can jump into a short rigorous program that is highly international and quickly acclimate and be a team member.

Hi Jen, thanks for the session!
I’m an Indian Male engineer (lol) with 5+ years of experience in strategy based roles, currently working at Big 4 for last 3 years in an Internal Innovation/tech role. Aiming for 695+ GMAT (currently scored 625), have experience working with leaders and volunteering in firm’s CSR initiatives. Graduated from Tier 2 college with <3 GPA (~65%), but have leadership experience in running various clubs at national level and volunteering experience during college. Targeting T20 USA MBA schools.

- My current experience is essentially tech project management, where I closely work with Deloitte leadership to ideate, fund and commercialize tech products across AI/ERP/S&C domains, supporting cross-functional teams realize and scale the products. Won some leadership awards, worked with global teams to expand portfolio reach. Was an intra-preneur where I led led discussions for venturing into B2C learning market and creating a new revenue stream.
- Previously worked at an early stage EV startup, helped them build 5 year strategy roadmap -led team of 2 interns, optimized their operations, helped them scale across nation-wide and win multi-million dollar contracts.

- Feel I lack in academics and have typical once a year volunteering work - anything to tackle academics?

Thanks for sharing - your professional experience is fantastic! Let that shine in your applications! For the CGPA - you may want to use the optional essay to share why you had lower grades (assume you were a bit too involved in activities?) and what you learned.
A high GMAT (or GRE) score will help balance the GPA out. What do you want to do post-MBA?

Thanks, appreciate the response!
Yes, will try to position my extra-curriculars to cover up (but honestly was immature regarding studies, and focussed on practical learning). Will cover up with a strong GMAT score, any thing else I could look at? Is MBA Math a good option?
I love Tech / Finance / S&C - so hoping to be involved in strategy or product based roles
