Okay, start with these two case studies, it'll give you insights from ground reality-

1. The Indian Male MBA Application Guide
2. Over Represented Applicant Pool: A Case Study

robinkhan

With these thoughts i am thinking to do MBA from any good colleges in India.
Please advice what schools should i target and with my profile what should be my GMAT score for those schools.

Based on your profile please target one-year residential programs for IIMs (Are you considering executive programs?). Your high WE might pose a problem for ISB but still go ahead and apply if you want to give it a shot. GMAT score is very subjective, you might get accepted with 690 and get rejected at 720. So please attempt for a 700+ score and start working on your application.

Please spend some time on these two threads-

1. ISB: https://gmatclub.com/forum/isb-204/
2. IIM: https://gmatclub.com/forum/iim-group-discussions-328/

I'm also tagging few experts who can add more value to your application journey- MBACrystalBall, CrackVerbalShree

Stay safe, cheers! :heart

January this year i met couple of friends and MBA triggered again.
Robin bhai, if this was the primary trigger, it would be better to drop the MBA idea.

From what you've shared seems like you've enjoyed a good life and career in the US, which is a perfectly good enough reason to not want an MBA.

Don't get swayed by what friends say. They might mean well, but they aren't in your shoes and they won't be there as a safety net after you leave a well-paying job.

Many of your desi brethren would love to be in your shoes (American job / USD salary) without an MBA.

The weather is expected to get rough over the next few years. Hold on to what you have.

LeoN88 Thankyou ! will go through the blogs. I am considering full time residential .
MBACrystalBall Thankyou for your response.
You are right that i have decent job and all going good but I have to settle down in India, if not now then in next couple of years. Looking at growth and few other factors (which i discussed with friends in Jan) im inclined towards MBA and the future aspect you are saying is worry-some. dont know when this recession will be at the peak

Thankyou again for your guidance !!

Hi All,
I am confused, should i do MBA or not.
My profile - almost 11years of IT experience, 7.5years in USA 3.5 in bangalore
i thought of doing MBA after my engineering but got placed in a good company (one of the top IT consultancy), so decided to do after few yrs of experience.
After few (3.5 years) they sent me US (still here) so MBA got into back burner. January this year i met couple of friends and MBA triggered again.
Now after looking into the forums and class profiles i am feeling i'm old(35) so might not get a very good school.
Can someone guide me, what should i do? what schools i should target.

Hi robinkhan,

Will you regret if you don't give MBA a shot?

Holding onto what you are doing is the safest thing to do. However, doing an MBA could also help you get to where you want to be. You will have to choose the right program that suits your profile. The economy is not in our control - ups and downs cycles keep alternating. You are the best judge to figure out when is the best time for you. You might have to take risks too.

Do PM me if you want to discuss this further.

regards,
Shree
