Good question! Some events vary. E.g. McCombs I think only gives waivers for certain events only that run a few times a year (right before the applications usually).
Fuqua gives waivers for all events. Ross seems to follow suit.

Sloan seems to only offer them for their niche events focusing on first-generation college applicants, and similar underprivileged groups (though they won't prevent you from attending these events) 👀

Doesn't directly answer this question, but here's an interesting list to check out.

It includes a list of qualifying events to attend to get an application fee waiver from MIT Sloan.

The process is fairly similar.
An application, some short answers, a 500 word essay and letters of recommendation. There are some minor deviations and differences with 1-2 schools having more short answers and fewer or no essay and 1-2 having no LOR’s. Usually all will require an interview for the admission.

And for letter of recs is 2 generic ones could enough? Is there a guide to them that you could guide me to?

Hi. Actually you can find all of this specific information, essay topics, deadlines, letter of recommendation questions in the business school hub - here is Wharton for example:

https://gmatclub.com/business-schools/w ... a-program/

(Scroll down to the essay and letter of recommendation section, on the desktop it’s on your right)

Not released yet and not available until probably June-July timeframe. The 2024-2025 season has not ended 😇

I’ve found the toughest part is timing. From GMAT Club’s guide, Round 1 (Sept–Oct) gives best shot at scholarships, while Round 2 (Jan) suits those refining applications like essays and recommendations. If your scores aren't solid or essays still evolving, Round 2 may be ideal. Just make sure EVERYTHING—GMAT/GRE, essays, recs—is polished before your deadline. Anyone else balancing R1 vs R2 strategy?

You’ve summed it up well. One more thing to factor in is school-specific competition patterns, some programs historically give more admits and scholarships in R1, while others still leave plenty on the table in R2. Also consider recruiter timelines if you’re targeting industries with early pipelines, like consulting or tech leadership programs.

If you’re leaning R2, use the extra months not just to polish essays and recommendations but also to deepen school research, network with students/alumni, and clarify your post-MBA story. That way, when you hit submit, it’s not just “polished” but strategically stronger.
