Hi! I have a question - does CV for executive and executive like programs (Sloan Fellows, Stanford MSx) need a section called - Summary? To cite key qualifications or something like - Finance professional with a series of qualifications in finance and extensive experience in audit and oil and gas industry? I was told by one consultant that it is not a custom to have a summary for US business school MBA application resume, but probably that it is case for full time MBA? P.S. Congrats on coming New Year! Kudos guaranteed for all replies

Hi Erjan_S, the consultant you spoke to is right. The Executive Summary is typically used in CVs when you are applying for a job, but for MBA or any other executive education it is not common nor needed. I hope this helps! Alex

So, keep it one page, and don't use any space for summary

The last 5 years of your Work accomplishments really matter. You can even merge experiences before that. 2. Even for your WE of 15 years, 1 page is the suggested resume. Given your GMAT is not too high, I would suggest keep your resume short and strong.

With all due respect, I disagree that only last 5 years matters, what I have greatest job achievements beyond last 5 years? Sometimes it happens for various reasons: industry decline, personal circumstances, etc... I do believe that all past jobs gave me different experiences, why should I skip it? As for GMAT, well, if my academic achievement is not strong, then I should probably better to focus on positioning myself as a seasoned professional with a lot of experience? Besides, more and more schools are accepting EA now...

Sure, There are always exceptions, which is exactly why personalised consulting works better after looking at your resume. What we have opined here is the general trend. That said, I maintain, while making selections between candidates, business schools focus on demonstrated examples from the last 5 years more than any other parts, with the most recent achievements holding most impact. The usual rule is to stick to a one page resume unless you have more than 10 yrs of work experience. However, there are exceptions everywhere and the actual length completely depends on the school you are applying to. You can find the length requirement for some of the schools here: https://aringo.com/mba-resume-tips-and-requirements/

I have a question. If the application has a space for us to include personal interests and organizations/accomplishments in specific organizations, is it correct to eliminate these from my resume?
