I read through the whole thing........an I still dont have a clue as to why I'm applying.

I thrashed out my U-Chic 1500 worder, thinking that'll gimme a good base for other applications, an sent it to a B-School grad friend.

He totally ripped it apart........but the choicest one was

"Finally, I dont see any clear case of doing an MBA...you can pick up finance from internet and books...entrepreneurship cant be learnt...so now why do u want an MBA?"

After this I got the AMLE link, an thinking that was the answer to my lives problems, I read the full thingee. An still nothing ;(

Nice to see everyone having fun.

You dont have to look 10 years into the future. All of you will be at the top of the world after graduating from the best of the best schools. Come back and look at these threads, especially your very first questions on the Club. It will make for some nice memories.

Your friend is correct, finance is best learned on the internet and entrepreneurship can't be learned.

Every year thousands of people graduate from top business schools and go on to jobs where they make roughly double their pre-MBA salary. Little do they know that they could have learned finance on the internet and that had they simply worked for those two years they spent in school, they would be in a much better position.

But for some reason we're on hellbent on destroying our lives and going to business school. God help us all.

Finance cant be learnt, entrepreneurship cant be learnt....
Time for all B schools to roll down their shutters.

On a serious note - everything can be learnt from books, but it is the experience and probably the networking that is the most useful at B school.
