Hey, have you made up your mind yet? Sorry I am late to the discussion (been busy with internship apps, exams etc).
I don't know anything about UT so my advice would be a bit biased, but I would recommend Manchester mainly because of its strong industry links and also it's programme structure: you will work for 3 different industry clients as a MBA consultant, all as part of the MBA programme + internship + potential exchange (has some good partner schools to choose from).
Just to give you a flavour of my journey so far at MBS - I worked for NHS last term, now I have just started working for KPMG on a finance related project and then I will be spending my summer in Canary Wharf at Citi. (FYI, my background is not finance, I was an engineer prior to mba)
Hope this helps. If you decide to come to Manchester, see you here in a few months time.
Cheers
p.s. regarding UK visa regulations
- They do not really matter much if you get a job in any of the big organisations (there are a few exceptions such as Pharma companies who don't sponsor work visas). Most of my classmates who are interning this summer in London are from outside EU and these MBA internships convert to full time with visa sponsored for you.
- Your student visa allows you to do an internship, and even if the internship does not convert to a full time offer, you can leverage that as UK experience when you hunt for full time jobs after MBA.
- The main issue for you will be that you can't target some of the boutique firms who won't sponsor work visa mainly because they don't understand the visa regulations (i.e. they usually don't have the HR and legal resources to allocate to deal with visa issues). Having said that, you can try to convince some of these boutiques to help you (I know one of my classmate from Egypt got an internship, which potentially converts to full time offer, at a boutique consulting firm)
