Congratulations on your admits! That's an amazing improvement!
What do you feel changed or contributed to your success this year? Just curious for what suggestions I tips I may give to future generations.

These are all great and worthy programs. It is hard to choose with so many of them giving great offers and scholarships!
I feel the best PM opportunity on the list is McCombs with options to be in Austin and recruit with many of the tech companies based there. It has a strong local name and based in a very strong tech market. As a matter of fact all of these are fairly regional programs so you are more likely to find opportunities close by first so it would be mid-west and south with only some off-campus lucky shot recruiting landing in the west.

The other approach is joining Mendoza and maximizing aid. I feel the other schools are sort in between these 2 and offer some trade offs in a logical and proportionate way that really does not help with choosing .

Ultimately it is the safety of smaller loan vs. greater opportunities for recruiting and more competitive peer group who would challenge you to be better, stronger, etc so you can keep up. Location is also better in terms of being in a city vs. remote (though there are benefits to being remote such as tighter-knit group). There are pros and cons on a whole spectrum but in general you will be choosing between better recruiting and lower cost.

Another way to approach it could be to start working on your funding and see if you run into any limitations/limits for either program. I assume you will be able to borrow enough for both but who knows.

If you have some friends/relatives/network in one of these locations, I would recommend being closer to them. It will make your experience better and more enjoyable and recruiting simpler and more effective. If you don't then don't worry about it ;-)

Wow, thank you for responding bb Really appreciate it.

"What do you feel changed or contributed to your success this year?" - I could make a whole post about this.
I'll tell you what, this is for reapplicants to rest easy - I applied in R2 last year and R1 this year - barely 5 months in between, I didn't improve my GMAT score, didn't change my post-MBA goal, still from an over-represented group, and neither did I get a promotion, nor were they big changes in my side gig. But, I told my story VERY differently. No, I did not embellish even a bit. But, I showed PERSONALITY. My first application to McCombs sounds like a different, drab person compared to this year. I think a lot of internationals hesitate to show personality, out of fear of appearing too informal. And we end up being forgettable and get lost in the crowd and get reduced to a GMAT score. I'm not sure that was the difference that got me in, but I can't think of any other. Also, I'm sure the lack of deferrals helped too.

And thanks for the detailed reply bb. I think I could bring up my scholarship at Rice. So looks like my choice is really between Rice with ~ 100k scholarship and McCombs with maybe a ~60K scholarship increase (or the current 40K).

If you are trying for PM roles, Mccombs and Rice are better choices. Try to negotiate with them for a full ride. Reach out to current students for a better idea of the ground situation in the respective schools. Start networking through LinkedIn

Other schools are less Tech-focused and I would advise you to choose the schools based on the target companies.

Hey thanks for the response. Appreciate it.

Agreed. But with McCombs, I truly doubt I'll get a markedly better scholarship, but I'm going to try. McCombs is a school that's hard to pass up on. Let's see.
