Each member needs one pair of socks and a shirt for home games and another pair of socks and a shirt for away games. If the total cost is \$2366, how many members are in the League?

(A) 77
(B) 91

Let total number of members be x

Cost of pair of socks = \$4
So cost of a t shirt = 4+5 = \$9

Let total members = x

Total cost of socks and t shirt for 1 member = 2*(4+9)x =2*13x

Therefore 2* 13x = 2366
x = 91 (B)

total cost for 1 game = 4+ 9 = 13
total home + away = 26
so
2366/26 ; 91

We can create the equation:

4(2n) + 9(2n) = 2366

26n = 2366

n = 91
