Hii !

Can anyone please review my profile for MiM and give suggestions to maximize my chances of getting admits from top b schools?

I am a fresher applying for MiM this year. My target B schools are : France (HEC, INSEAD , ESSEC ,ESCP, EDHEC) , SDA Bocconi , IE and few others

I am doing my bachelors in science(biology) from IISER MOHALI (tier 1 research institute in the country)

CPI = 8.3 ( can push it to 8.5 max by the end of graduation )

haven’t taken GMAT yet (what should be seven score range for top French schools )

I will soon be starting my internship as a data analyst intern at WPP productions (MNC- specialised in marketing)
I have volunteered as a Project management intern at NGO - Pehchaan the street school (Trust)
I founded a marketing diagnostic agency - CLARIVA - I have worked with a few businesses for experience but have not had any paid clients yet (would appreciate suggestions to take this forward) but few paid clients are in the pipeline

I have served as the logistics and marketing head at Finance club in IISER - increasing student participation in club activities and organising and managing club events

apart from the professional experience :

I was awarded with BSG ( Bharat scouts and Guides) - nipun and Rajya puraskar ( it is India’s national scouting organization focused on leadership, discipline, teamwork)

I have been the sports coordinator for basketball
Represented college at IISM ( sports meet where renowned research across India participate ) - won a silver
Won the Best Sportsperson in women category in Intra IISER sports competition for begging 12 medals across multiple sports (volleyball , basketball, lawn tennis and athletics )
I have elementary level proficiency in : sign language and Spanish
In free time I do : mandala art , solve rubics cube, play kalimba

I would really appreciate if anyone could evaluate my chances of selection in top b schools in France with my current profile and provide suggestions to improve things further

Honestly, your profile reads stronger than the way you're framing it, and the visa context actually gives you a clean narrative that most low-GPA applicants simply do not have.

- The first thing MiM adcoms look at is not your cumulative GPA, it's your semester trajectory. If the post-visa semesters show a clear upward curve, the 2.9 quietly turns into a resilience story rather than a red flag. Do plot it out and check whether your last three semesters cross 3.3 or so, because that is the number that actually shifts the read.

- Quick note on the 645 target. If you mean GMAT Focus 645, that's roughly Classic 700 by percentile, which sits comfortably in MiM territory for HEC and ESSEC. Don't undersell it. If you can stretch to 665+ Focus, the GPA conversation more or less closes itself.

- The Erasmus to PSL is your secret weapon, frankly. A strong semester at a Paris institution does three things for these schools. It shows you can perform in the French academic system, gives you a local recommender, and signals real commitment to the ecosystem. Treat that semester like the most important one of your degree.

- CFA Level 1 at 20, plus the FMVA, plus the Harvard case comp, is an uncommon stack in the MiM pool and reads as direct evidence of quant capability that the GPA cannot deliver on its own. Lean into this hard in your essays. Most MiM applicants simply do not bring this kind of pre-experience credibility.

- The Vietnamese-from-Czech-university angle is rarer than you think in the HEC and ESSEC pools. Both schools actively index on geographic diversity, and Southeast Asian candidates with deep European exposure sit in a bucket they want filled. That is leverage, not a footnote.

Land a strong Erasmus semester and a 665+ Focus, and I'd read this as a competitive ESSEC application and a credible HEC one. Get the GMAT done well before the round you plan to target.

Hi everyone,

Could you please evaluate my profile. Any insights would help me immensely, as I plan to target MiM at (HEC, ESSEC).

This is my profile:
- 20 Years old - from Vietnam
- Studying Economics and Finance at Charles University in Prague in English (Rank 1 in Czechia).
- GPA 2.9/4.0. My GPA is low because of a visa issue which made me miss almost the whole first year.
- No GMAT yet. I want to target 645+ to compensate for my GPA.
- I have an internship in the FP&A team at Kenvue (formerly Johnson&Johnson) and one in Finance&Operations in a small company.
- I participated in the Harvard Global Case Competition and planning to do the CFA challenge this October. I also passed the CFA Level 1 and I also have the FMVA (Financial Modeling and Valuation Analyst) from CFI.
- I'm planning to do an Erasmus exchange to PSL-Paris next semester.

I know that my GPA is very low, potentially a red flag to the admission. I want to know which way I can compensate for my GPA and would it be a direct no to these program. Thank you for your time!
